GYPSY KINGS
2014
Gypsy Kings is a series inspired by the amazingly wild lifestyle I lived on the gypsy ghetto street Cejl in Brno, during my studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts in the Czech Republic. I loved the way of life where everything happens on the streets, out of the houses. People were skimming from the shop to home, laying with pillows in the windows, and watching what’s going on outside. When there was a fight, 60 people were fighting with iron sticks. The tobacco shop had a barn in the doors and let in only people who paid in advance. Darkness, smoking, rings, music, and unemployment. La Dolce Vita! Deep rooted reality of the social and economic inequalities that persist....
